Hy!
I am going to talk about pages 60-120, my thought about these pages and my favorite parts in the book. And a little bit about the things that I did not like.
She started her journey trough the Pacific Crest trail. At first she isn't worried about the big hike ,but when she got her bags together and was ready to go ,she realized that it was not going to be easy at all but harder than she expected. Her hiking bag was very heavy ,because she had all her stuff in int and 24 gallons of water too. She had planned to walk on average 14 miles a day, but on day two she was already significantly behind.
It was very important to get to the next point which was Golden Oak Springs ,because there she could get water. Once Sheryl arrived to Golden Oak Springs she started cleaning her bruises and wounds from walking. She already had many blisters on her foot. But Sheryl didn't have much time to pamper her self , she must walk further every day and resting only during the nights. She realized that landscape had changed from a desert to forrest with trees. And also her stove was broken so she only ate food that didn't need to be cooked. She basically is out of all foods she had bought with her. She tought that it would be a good idea to leave the trail and find a highway and then a gas stop to get some food. But it was a really bad idea because she got lost but eventually she found her way out. She was picked up by some guy who brought her to a near motel where she washed her clothes and got some food for hiking. In the motel there was a man named Greg who was from the trail ,he had started the trail near the Mexico border in early May and planned to go all the the way to Canada. Sheryl was so happy that now she has some company but at same time intimidated by Greg because he walked 22 miles every day and was more experienced hiker. Greg at same time was impressed because Sheryl was the only woman who he had seen registered in the book. Hikers register themselves in a book before they start a hiking and other hikers then can see who is hiking same time.
I liked the book because it's thrilling and at the same time very emotional. But I did not like that it sometimes too descriptional ,but in my opinion the overall feeling of the book is very good.
But in my next blog I will talk about where they are heading and its going to be interesting because there will be lots of snow.

Hy!
I started reading a new book called Wild by Cheryl Strayed. First reason why I chose the book was that it was #1 New York Times bestseller. And seeing that it was a bestseller I thought right away that it must be a good book. Second reason why I chose the book was that on the cover was Reese Witherspoon, one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood. But when I saw her on the cover of the book ,I thought ,why is she on the cover. When I flipped the book on its back I saw pictures from a movie scene. I recognized the movie because I had seen the trailer. Based on my memory of the trailer it looked pretty cool. For me it is very appealing when a book is based on a true story, not science fiction. Because I think that story plots that have happened in real life are much more interesting to read. For that reason I chose this book.
This book is about a twenty two year old woman named Cheryl Strayed and her eleven-hundred-mile solo hike thru Pacific Crest Trail. She lost her father when she was 6 years old, she had a stepfather, loving mother, a brother, and a sister. She was happily married and everything seemed perfect. But everything collapsed for her when her mother got cancer and died 50 days after the doctors said that she had cancer. Cheryl was deeply disappointed in her siblings because her sister didn't come to see mother and brother came to see her only once. She was the only one who was by her mothers side threw out the illness. After the death she didn't speak to her siblings and stepfather. After the tragedy, once a perfect family was torn apart. Cheryls marriage was getting to an end because she felt like nobody understands her. She had so many questions, like why her mother had cancer. Even tough she didn't smoke, drink and had an really healthy life style. She and her husband got divorced. After four years, in 1995, when she was twenty six years old she took a decision to change her life. To hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State. Craziest part too it was that she wanted to do it all by her self. She had no experience what so ever but she took the risk, hoping to start a new chapter in her life.
